Founded in 1555, our hospital served as a hospital in Fatih Haseki District until 2019. As of July 2019, Haseki Hospital moved to Sultangazi Hospital Building.

Our hospital's General Surgery Clinic is located on the Sultangazi Hospital Building, Ugur Mumcu Neighborhood, Hospital Street in Sultangazi, B and C blocks on the 4th floor of the building. The surgery clinic has a capacity of 75 patients. Single or double rooms are available. Each room has a TV, central ventilation system, refrigerator, patient cabinets, shower, and toilet.

Ministry of Health Haseki Training and Research Hospital General Surgery Clinic coordinator, education, and administrative manager is Associate Professor Muzaffer AKINCI. Under the management of Muzaffer AKINCI, high-level surgical operations are performed successfully in the hospital. Haseki Hospital is one of the leading hospitals in the country in surgical training and training new surgeons. Every year, many new surgeons attend the clinic for educational purposes. We shed light on the future of surgery with academic publication articles and books created in our clinic.

With the advancement of technology, many new developments have emerged in the field of surgery. All new technological facilities are available in our clinic and high-level laparoscopic surgery procedures are performed. Many valuable associate professors and education officers who are experts in the field are in our academic staff. Gastrointestinal Surgery, Bariatric Surgery, Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery, Oncoplastic Breast Surgery, Endocrine Surgery specialists work in our hospital and perform surgical operations. In our clinic 8 associate professors, 1 professor, 6 specialist surgeons, 3 chef assistant surgeons, 18 surgeons work, and 14 assistant surgeon training.

Surgical oncology, surgical endocrinology, gastric surgery, bowel surgery, colon-rectum surgery, bile duct surgery, hepatic surgery, pancreatic surgery, breast surgery, bariatric surgeries are performed by surgeons who are experts in the field. Diagnosis and treatment services are applied to patients on a regular basis every day at Fatih campus and Sultangazi campus.

In our outpatient clinics, 3000 - 4000 patients are examined and treated every month. In our clinic, an average of 5000 patients is admitted and treated annually.

All surgeries of general surgery are performed with open techniques and minimally invasive techniques.

More than 5000 elective surgeries, over 2000 emergency and trauma surgeries, and over 1000 local surgical procedures are performed every year using modern technological devices in General Surgery operating rooms.

In 2018, 8164 operations were carried out, including 385 in group A.

It is successfully performed in all kinds of invasive endoscopic procedures together with gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and ERCP in the endoscopy unit and operating room conditions. Our endoscopy center has been selected as a training center by the Turkish Surgical Association.In our surgical endoscopy unit, colonoscopy is performed on an average of 2500 patients per year, endoscopy to 5000 patients and PEG opening to an average of 120 patients, ERCP, foreign body removal, endoscopic submucosal resections, etc. are performed.

Endoscopy Training is given within the framework of theoretical and practical 6-month Endoscopy Training Program during the 5-year education of medical specialty students.

Our hospital surgical clinic is a member of the international Breastcentres and every 2 weeks, patients are discussed as multidisciplinary in the breast diseases council, and decisions are taken.

As a result of the weekly multidisciplinary council meeting, the most appropriate treatment options for an average of 100 patients per year are discussed and decided together with the Department of Medical Pathology, Department of Radiology, Department of Nuclear Medicine, and Oncology. Within the scope of the annual training program, daily per-patient practice, monthly mortality-morbidity meetings, weekly interactive seminar meetings, literature time, textbook subject narration, scientific study and publication preparation, and theoretical courses were applied and continuity was given to specialization and post-specialty education.
