Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
From
the end of the 28-day newborn period to the age of 18, children's body
structure, functioning and diseases and treatments vary greatly from adults.
For this reason, special units with different equipment are needed in cases
that require monitoring and treatment in the intensive care unit. The pediatric
intensive care units developed for this purpose are equipped with equipment for
the treatment and control of critically ill children. A team of physicians,
nurses and assistant health personnel who are specialized in their fields work
in the Pediatric Intensive Care Units.
The
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of our hospital has 10 beds. All beds have been
registered as level 3 intensive care beds by the Ministry of Health. Our
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit provides intensive care support to patients in
need of pediatric intensive care with its modern medical equipment.
In
our unit, respiratory support, central venous catheterization, arterial
catheterization, total parenteral nutrition, continuous renal replacement
therapy, plasma exchange therapy, bedside X-ray, bedside ultrasound,
echocardiography and bedside EEG can be performed.
The
follow-up and treatment of the children hospitalized in our unit are carried
out by the Pediatric Intensive Care Team with the support of the specialists of
our Pediatrics Clinic and other physicians of our hospital.
