The process
of imaging hollow organs with the help of a flexible device and an optical
camera attached to its end is called endoscopy. Examination of the esophagus,
stomach, and duodenum by entering through the mouth opening is called gastroscopy.
We also call the examination of the large intestine and part of the small
intestine colonoscopy.
The
Endoscopy Unit in our hospital provides service in the Sultangazi Branch, where
there are two rooms for endoscopy and colonoscopy and one room for ERCP-EL15.
Endoscopic
procedures for diagnosis and treatment are successfully performed by
experienced teams in our unit. In order to ensure the patient's comfort, the
procedures are performed under anesthesia (sleep).
Among the
most important procedures carried out by the Endoscopy Unit are:
-Endoscopic
diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases
-Esophagogastroduodenoscopy
-Colonoscopy
-Sigmoidoscopy
-Endoscopic
removal of polyps of the gastrointestinal tract
-Percutaneous
endoscopic gastrostomy opening (PEG - gastric feeding tube)
-Removal of
gastrointestinal tumors and expansion of strictures by balloon and installation
of stents
-Endoscopic
imaging of the pancreas and biliary tract (ERCP)
-Endoscopic removal of stones from
the bile duct and placing stents for strictures in this bile duct
